TX-RS1 RF Failure Detector with POTS Dial-up Alert

The TX-RS1 RF Failure Detector with Integrated Auto-dial Voice Alert is aimed at a new
generation of broadcasters who demand high quality products at lower cost.

It monitors the alarm outputs of RF Power Amplifiers or Exciters for pre-defined logic
level signals or thresholds, switching RF feeds and controlling system logic accordingly.

An integral PSTN interface simply plugs into an exchange line socket to provide voice
alert of alarm conditions for station staff and engineers, saving money on additional
dial-up systems.

The auto-dialler memory holds up to 10 cellular or landline telephone numbers, and the
custom voice alert message allows the exact location and nature of the fault to be
identified.

Traditionally, the parameters of an RF failure detector remains fixed, often for the
entire life of the equipment, making the plethora of expensive controls and indicators
usually associated with this kind of product, unnecessary. Instead, parameters are
locked into the host microcontroller’s firmware.

A 9-pin ‘D’ connector on the rear panel provides a comprehensive choice of
voltage-free or TTL interfaces for system switching, and includes accurate comparator
circuitry for precise monitoring of alarm thresholds.

A keyswitch is provided to enable authorised personnel to override the system, and
to change between system ‘A’ & ‘B’ chains. This control is also used to reset the
system in order to restore normal operation, once a fault in the ‘A’ chain has been
rectified.

The rugged, reliable TX-RS1 is currently in use at a number of radio stations,
providing piece of mind 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
